One of the requirements for my counseling theories course is to give a group presentation on a particular theory to the class. My group was assigned psychoanalytic/psychodynamic therapy and we have collectively decided to focus on Jungian therapy. Carl Jung! Interested in the spiritual, mystical, ambiguous, cultural…I know some people despise Jung, but I like him.
It doesn’t hurt I am obsessed with the Myers Briggs Type Indicator* and its many applications. This is probably because I identify very strongly with my type (ISFJ). It’s such a guiding force in my understanding of myself and others – sounds silly, but I’m being honest!
* (Technically not created by Jung, but informed by Jungian theory, for those who may have trouble following my train of thought).
