First sign of fall

You all are DOLLS and have excellent taste in music. Thank you for sharing. I have a few new artists to explore!

This community is so wonderful and like I said yesterday, I wish I could give you all something. I truly care about you all and am lucky to call some of you “friends”! Though I don’t comment on every post, I read every single post. That is a promise (of course, I don’t read blogs every day so sometimes I get a but behind!). Your voices are gifts to me every day. Whenever I am needing a break from school or looking to feel inspired I read your words.

Wow it sounds like I am talking about the Bible…

~

Yesterday at the farmer’s market I spied the first sign of fall – APPLES!

I bought a 1/4 peck of Ginger Gold (one of the few ripe varieties in my area right now), and have been devouring them two at a time…

No biggie.

It’s still pretty warm here, but it’s nice to know that fall is coming. Just like my freaky cleaning love, I adore the change in season and I don’t mind winter!

Because your insightful and funny comments are like crack to me, I have dos questions for you today.

  1. Do you read more blog posts than you comment on? Do you ever feel pressure to comment more because of the relationships you’ve built? I used to feel pressure, but then I let it go because it wasn’t realistic for me. Plus, I only have so much time on my hands, and I’d rather spend it thoughtfully reading your words than rushing through. But there are times I do worry that you all know how much I love you and support you even though I don’t comment on every single post.
  2. What is the first sign of fall to you, wherever you live?

PS – Today’s jam is a result of Miss Smart‘s recommendation yesterday!

Happy (belated) birthday blog!

Wow, I totally missed my blog’s one year anniversary! Whoops!

Not surprising, since I suck at remembering birthdays in real life as well. I’m convinced that the only thing Facebook is really good for is helping me keep track of that stuff…the one time a week that I check it of course.

It was last Monday, the first day of classes. I guess it makes sense that my mind was elsewhere.

Anyways, I want to hold a little giveaway to celebrate! I love giving presents and if I had the funds, I’d give you all cars and vacations a la Oprah. But I don’t, so instead I’ll give away a box of some of my favorites. I haven’t put it together yet, but you can probably expect to find some food, some music, something coffee-related…but really, who knows.

All you have to do is leave a comment on this post sharing what music you are listening to right now.

I’ll pick a winner on Saturday morning!

Happy Monday!

I’m the freak that loves Mondays. I like the business of the weekdays and then the slow pace of the weekends. Perfect balance to life.

I’ve also been way more domestic than I’ve ever been. Since this is my first time living on my own, I want my place to be nice. When I lived with other people, I didn’t bother cleaning as much because there are few things more annoying than cleaning something only to have someone else trash it 3 seconds later. Wow, I’m going to have to change that mentality when I become a mom, huh?

So yeah, I’ve found I love to clean. Windex, Endust, and the Dirt Devil are my new pals. I’m the freaky Monday-loving cleaning lady.

~

I’m also out of my I-just-moved-in-and-I-don’t-want-to-cook-rut, which is nice. Here’s the lovely stir-fry I made for dinner last night:

Tofu with celery, onions, and peppers.

I’m still a stir-fry newbie, but GC and Kath, aren’t you proud?

I used coconut oil for this, which I was a little unsure about. However, it gave a nice sweet note to the Bragg’s, garlic powder, and ginger that I added.

I’m a freaky, Monday-loving, tofu-eating, cleaning lady. I love it!

Tell me your freaky interests…go!
