Here are two weekend snippets.

~

On Friday night I saw one of my favorite movies at the State Theater.

I know it’s a romantic comedy, but this is one of those movies that leaves me with new thoughts every time I see it. After we watched, my friend and I had a good talk about relationships. Like Alvy and Annie, people come in and out of our lives. Whether they are there for a short time or a long time, they have the ability to make a huge impact. I think we can learn just as much from the guy who serves margaritas on vacation as we can from friends we’ve known for years. It’s kind of awesome really.

And yes, the post title alludes to one of my favorite quotes from the film. It pretty much sums up my sense of humor.

Saturday included this little playlist, a random conglomeration of old soul and new folk. I was still in a bit of a romantic mood I guess. A weird romantic mood that Woody Allen tends to inspire.

Dreaming of Africa

Thank you guys so much for your support on my changes in blogging for the next few weeks. I think it will be a healthy format for me to work with and spreading positive energy is always a good thing in my book. Like I said, it will mostly be a continuation of my journaling, which is just a smattering of random stuff that inspires me.

Paul Simon, I love your words.

It’s a turn-around jump shot
It’s everybody jump start
It’s every generation throws a hero up the pop charts
Medicine is magical and magical is art
The Boy in the Bubble
And the baby with the baboon heart

Thank you for opening my eyes. You make me want to go to Namibia and listen to Sigur Ros while watching the sun set on the savannah. I know I will get there some day.

What is a big, crazy dream you have for your life?

Jam of the day: Sigur Ros “Svefn-g-englar”
