Thank you all for your sweet comments on volunteering. I feel a lot better about it today, and a lot of that is due to the encouragement from you all!
Or maybe the fact that I’m leaving in two days took my mind off of it? Eeek!
~
I took a break from packing yesterday to get my hair did (aka trimmed). I am no muss, no fuss when it comes to my hair. I only get it trimmed every six months. I know that’s bad, but I always forget!
Before:
After:
Not much different right?
I’d love to experiment with cooler cuts and styles when I get older, but for now it’s easiest to keep it long and layered (especially when you only trim it twice a year!).
I’ll be honest, when I’m trying to get a million things done food seems like a chore. I’m not sure if admitting this rescinds my status as a food-lover, but whatever. I carry anxiety in my gut, so I tend to forget about food when I’m nervous or excited. But I’m sticking to my resolution to listen to my body, and that means giving myself proper fuel!
~
Some “fuel” from yesterday:
Pumpkin banana protein oats with flax and cashew butter.
Spinach salad with carrots, tomatoes, and raspberry dressing.
Almond butter and carrot sandwich.
Oat bran with nutritional yeast, curry powder, and crrr-unchy almond butter.
What part of your body do you carry your stress in? As I stated earlier, mine is in my gut. But being more aware of this has helped a lot. Relationship between mind and body = way cool. Psych nerd alert!

MY gut all the way… it SUCKSSSs- your hair looks fab!
My stomach – for sure. And my back. It always gets achey when I’m stressed – not sure why. Yoga does the trick and stretching.
I definitely carry my tension in my stomach. And my shoulders. Ick.
Long and layered is my haircut of choice too, it’s jus so easy to deal with.
I feel nervous in my whole body… like my hands shake like mad! I hate it haha. Prayer always helps though
I can totally tell a difference in your hair. I used to always have mine long then recently I was like okay lets do this & I got 4 inches off! I still don’t do anything with it but it does dry faster
Your comment cracked me up! I promise I am already halfway done with organizing that last photos hot-messiness <– so not a word!
anywho, I move every year thanks to the good old marine corps so i've developed this horrible habit of shoving things into cabinets and drawers unorganized and then forgetting about them b/c they are behind closed doors! Worst habit ever — i'm trying to break it =)
Your have beautiful hair btw! =) I haven't gotten mine cut in almost two years and ohmygosh it's time for an epic trim!
xo

I’m getting my hair trimmed tomorrow…first time since July!! I hate cutting my hair, haha.
I carry stress in my shoulders. They get solid and sooo painful when I’m stressed!!
First of all I think you’ve inspired me to have a nut butter and carrot sandwich sometime soon.
My top stress spots are my stomach and my neck, which leads to a headache.
PS. Your hair looks great!<3
oh lordy do i carry stress in my gut or what! also in my under eye circles.
i think i need to make your peanutty dressing tomorrow. once again remind me the taste level?
Go for it girl! The dressing is really nutty with a yummy savory flavor from the Bragg’s. But the beauty of making your own sauces is that you can adjust the seasonings to suit your liking!
My stomach for me too. I have scratch marks on it to prove it.
I love your cut! It’s natural, pretty, and free-flowing.
your hair looks AWEEEEEESOME!!! so beautiful girl!!!
Yes, I carry my stress in my gut too! its so annoying! why cant I carry it like in my ankle or elbow?
You hair looks awesome. But you always were beautiful, I bet even bald.
And thats so creative with the oat bran! I gotta try that!
Song of the day? Amazing.
Curry powder, nutritional yeast, almond butter, and oat bran? I think I might just love you for that.
I mean love in the platonic sense of course…we just “met” after all.
you have really great hair. fact.
You hair looks beautiful!!!
Good question about where I carry my stress. I’d say ALL over my body (haha) cause I tend to be stressed 24/7…but I’m sure if I pay attention–there will be a prominent area that stands out
I have to admit, I get my hair trimmed about every 6 months as well and I usually keep it long and layered so you aren’t alone!
Ohh I love the idea of that sandwich! Kind of like a carrot cake sandwich? Yum!
